Korean Cultural Center in France: a hub of the Korean Wave and Korean arts and culture in France Since its founding in Paris in 1980, the Korean Cultural Center in France has been the official government institution introducing the Republic of Korea’s diverse culture and arts to the French public. After expanding and relocating in 2019 to a multidisciplinary cultural space in Paris’s 8th arrondissement (20 Rue la Boétie), it has established itself as a key hub for spreading the Korean Wave. Year-round the center hosts a wide range of cultural events—from traditional arts that showcase authentic Korean beauty to world-leading K-Pop, Korean film, contemporary art exhibitions, and media art. It also runs diverse educational programs such as systematic Korean language courses, traditional dance and instrument classes, and popular Korean cooking classes (K-Food Academy), offering chances to experience Korean culture firsthand. It operates a library of Korea-related books and webtoons for locals and expatriates alike, and with large exhibition halls and a performance auditorium it is a leading space for cultural exchange where one can experience Korea most vividly in Paris.
